More of the Remodel and a few of my favorite things...

We have reached the end of January and the remodel is coming along quite nicely.

The addition is almost all the way enclosed and we have had pretty mild weather for January so the progress has continued daily with no problems from Mother Nature.
Now on to some of my favorite things for the month...
This picture is of our old key pad for our garage door opener. I know it is original to the house because I remember having one just like it in one of our houses in the 1980's.
This is our new keypad and garage door opener. My favorite feature is that I can check from my phone to see if the garage door is down from anywhere, I can even close it if it is not with an app on my phone. I cannot tell you how many times I have turned around after leaving the house to make sure the garage door is closed. Well, not anymore!

We also discovered a new food truck in town that sells ice cream cookie sandwiches. It is incredible! If you live in Abilene you need to follow their page and go get one right away.
Faithbox is the best! I asked for a subscription to this for Christmas from my parens and the first one came this week. It is filled with different faith based treats each month from places all over the world that are giving back to make sure hungry children have a meal. I just love being surprised!
Then there is Wrigley who I adore but really wish he would get house trained already. This is the part of a new puppy that I think people forget about because if we remembered no one would want one.

Mid-January, Wrigley, Remodel, and Basketball

Well we have made it to the middle of the month...
Wrigley is still growing
and learning to play a little with Oliver.
The bathroom remodel is still going strong...
This my friends is my new and greatly improved closet to be.

Laying out some of my selections for the new bathroom design.
Kaylee played in the San Angelo Tournament and they took home the first place medal! We are so proud of our sweet girl and all of her hard work.
A trip to San Angelo also brings us to have to stop at Baskin-Robbins. Who can go near one and not walk out with a clown cone?
With basketball season also usually brings adjustments at the chiropractor too.
Then there is a little Warrior basketball for your enjoyment too. Campbell made a great free throw shot here.

Introducing Wrigley Lane Beard...

On January 14th, I talked my friend Megan into riding with me to Cross Plains to pick up Wrigley. On the ride back to Abilene he cried a lot, I felt so bad for him since I know he was missing his family.
To say that Kaylee and Campbell were excited would be an understatement.

I have to say he was an adorable puppy. I mean who could not love that face?

Oliver even decided it was not so bad having a little brother around.
Campbell even slept on the floor beside him the first night at our house so he would not cry. I thought that was too sweet.

January Happenings...

It's January...I love January because with it comes a slower pace and no holidays to worry about. Another plus is catching up on all the holiday Hallmark movies we did not have time to watch in December. I love some Hallmark movie time and cuddling with my girls.
Of course, January means more time to hunt with Dad for Kaylee. They are always searching for that big buck to come in to view.

It also meant more basketball and smiles from my girl.

The other great thing is the time has finally come to remodel our master bathroom. Slowly but surely I will turn this house into my dream house. Well actually Phil (our fabulous friend and contractor) and Pinterest will make my dreams a reality. Oh, and Larry is going to help some too.
Bathroom being disassembled! I have been waiting 10 years fairly patiently for this to happen. I am so excited, even if there was a lot of packing and relocating to other parts of the house that had to happen.
The brick is gone and the bathroom is pretty much gutted and waiting to move some pipes to relocate the plumbing to different areas of the bathroom.
We also got to pray and send the Gasore family back to their home in Rwanda to be missionaries to the people there through Rwanda Children.
The Gassers are well loved and will be missed but we cannot wait to watch how they change lives in Rwanda.
Campbell also started AYBA basketball on the Warriors. They are a precious group of girls and they have so much fun together.
