July Fun!!

I cannot believe how fast the month of July has gone by. We have been busy but not overwhelmed like I felt during the month of June.

The week of July 13-17 Kaylee had the pleasure of attending KidQuest at ACU again this year. This was the main thing that she looked forward to all summer. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful this camp is, it is organized, God centered, and full of fun activities. Each day Kaylee was up and ready to go. By the time she returned homw she was exhausted from all of the fun. On Friday they put on a program to show some of the songs and things they had learned that week. It was so cute. They also showed a video of pictures taken during the week.

On July 16th we got to celebrate Cary's 33rd Birthday!! The girls both had very different ideas on what he needed for his birthday. Kaylee thought he needed the new Tiger Wood's golf game for the Wii and Campbell insisted on getting new socks. Of course Daddy was very happy with what both of his girls picked out. After a steak dinner and some yummy chocolate cake we counted the birthday a success. We love you Honey and are so glad that we got to spend a day celebrating you!

On Saturday morning we traveled to Waco to celebrate Nana's Birthday with her. We had a great time eating some delicious hamburgers with Nana, Papa, and great Papaw too. I just love the look on Campbell's face in this picture. We all love our Nana and were very glad we got to spend the weekend showing her how special we think she is!

A Weekend of Laughter

Well the July 4th Weekend was great around our house this year we got to escape to Dallas with a some good friends. Good times were had by all!

While the men went to enjoy the Rangers game on July 4th the women were having there own fun shopping all over the metroplex. This picture shows how much fun the men had without us;-) We all had lots of laughs the whole weekend along with lots of great food. I even found a new restaurant that I fell in love with called Kona Grill at North Park Mall. Be warned that the food portions are pretty large so it would be perfect to share. Once we had fueled up we went to almost every store in the mall. Unfortunately for me, all the items I loved were not on sale and most of the time had a higher price than I wanted to pay so alas Anthropologie, Nordstrom, and Banana Republic got to keep their inventory. It was fun just to be with friends in one of my favorite places. After we were all shopped out we went to MiCocina at the Galleria to enjoy some more delicious food and meet up with Lori's Mom, Judy, who is always good for a lot of laughs and fun times. Since the Galleria closed early for the 4th we decided to get our swimsuits on and do a little lounging by the pool. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of the women due to the fact that the men took the camera with them so they could take some very random pictures. I am going to have to get the scoop on that later.

The next day we ate at the Grand Lux and then shopped the Galleria before heading back home. We did stop and gather up a few treasures at a local T.J. Maxx as well. Believe it or not my husband actually came back with more shopping bags than I did. That is what happens when you turn men loose at several sporting goods stores.

I am guessing he is a great player since I hear his name around our house quite often and there were no less than 50 pictures of him on my camera, well maybe a few less but still a lot. All joking aside it would be wonderful to have Ian Kinsler represent Texas in the All-Star Game. Go vote!

Here's to you Leslie...

Where do I even begin? I was first blessed to have Leslie cross my path when we were living in Dallas and we attended the same church. She was a new Mom to Kaitlyn and you could tell from the beginning that it was a role that she thrived in. (I feel that the Lord was very convinced of that too since she was later blessed with Cora and Claire as well who are only 13 months apart.) It takes someone very special to have three girls four years and under. I admire her so much for her sense of humor and honesty in the journey of parenting. I am amazed at the way she just takes all three girls to swim lessons, the park, and where ever else they want to go. I am exhausted just thinking about all the things she does with her girls. They are very lucky girls because they could not ask for a better Mom. Leslie loves her family and her Lord, it is evident to all who know her.

Leslie meets the definition of "a friend to the end" in every sense. There is nothing that she would not do for them. Which I was about to experience first hand. Around the time Kaitlyn turned two the Mayo family moved to Abilene and Leslie started blogging which let me into her heart a little more and our friendship grew. I did not know how pertinent her blog would be to me until one day in November the decision was made by our family to move to Abilene. Let's just say it was not the highlight of my year to move. (That is putting it lightly.) However, through Leslie blogging about all the fun things for families to do in Abilene and all the time they got to spend together as a family, I began to see a light at the end of the tunnel. She graciously started emailing me all the positives to living in A-town, included her phone number, and instructions to call so we could all go out to dinner when we came to town. Thank you sweet friend for helping me make it through that first year and always listening and understanding what I was going through. ( I know that I was not a lot of fun to be around at times.) Your smiling face was always such a comfort to me and you always made me feel included whenever we were together. Thank you for blessing me with your gift of reaching out and make others feel welcome.
