Much Improved!

Well here is the post I have been waiting for! The two ugliest bathrooms in our house have finally been redone.

I took the former bathroom pictures when we came to look at the house for the first time, so they are not the greatest. You can definitely get an idea though. This was the guest bathroom Before. The crazy paisley wallpaper had to go. What you cannot see is that they had a burgandy stripe wallpaper on the opposite wall, it was a lot better than the paisley. Still not Great though.

Here is the guest bathroom now. We put up a paintable wallpaper with a fun swirl pattern and painted it a deep red. It looks so much better. Sorry to all the guests we have had who got ready in the old one. We are now new and improved and ready for company. Those of you who went to Canton with me will notice the towel holder.

Here is the Master bathroom as we first saw it. The former owners had spent a lot of time faux finishing these walls with no texture on them. They were a purply-plum with a white faux pattern all over them. Let's just say it did not make me want to get up in the morning. The green tile is not my favorite but as you will see it is better now.

Here is the Master bathroom now! I actually can say that I like it. We put in new fixtures and hardware. What a difference some texture on the walls, paint, and updating make.

Here is the wall above the bathtub. Another Canton purchase at work. The old owners had a silver framed mirror here. So not only were there mirrors on each side of the bathroom with the his and her vanities but you could also see yourself getting out of the bathtub or shower. Lovely! I much prefer the iron piece. Notice how the green tile now blends with the bathroom. Yeah!
I will have to show you some of the other before and after pictures of the rest of the house on another day.

Whew!!

Well the Big Day finally arrived today! I have been planning my friend Julie's Baby Shower for a few months and today was the day. I have planted lots of flowers, cleaned the house from top to bottom (including baseboards), completed the dining room, and semi-remolded two bathrooms. It was all worth it because the shower was a success and I had so much fun visiting with everyone who attended. Each of the hostesses were so creative in one area or another...it is amazing. Not to mention all of the cute baby girl gifts that I got to look at. (Denise made the cutest blanket.) We even got to have a semi celebration with my friend Kelly who as of today is off bedrest. The house was full of good friends, good food, and good times. Just the way I like it!

As I sit here typing with a clean house I am looking forward to a week of having fun with the girls and being back in our normal routine. We did enjoy our Spring Break with some spoiling in Waco for a few days though. Thanks again Nana and Papa for all the goodies:) I will try to post pictures this week of the two redone bathrooms. Hope you all had good weekends.

* I almost forgot I have to add one funny Kaylee story from the weekend. On Saturday we were leaving the house to go to a Birthday party for Campbell's boyfriend. As we were backing out of the driveway Kaylee glanced over at our neighbor's house. She and a friend of hers were working in the yard with bikini tops on and the 80's short shorts. (Our neighbor is probably in her early forties.) Kaylee says, "What is our neighbor doing?" I say, "Well it looks like she is working in the yard with a friend of hers." Kaylee, "Why is she kinda naked?" I say, "Well I think she is just trying to get a little sun." Kaylee, "Well I think she needs some more clothes on." I say, "Please remember that when you are a teenager." Kaylee, "Okay Mom." Out of the mouths of babes.
