First/Last Day of School 2013-2014

Look at how my girls have grown this school year! It is so hard to believe just how much change takes place in a year when I look at these first versus last day of school pictures. Time please slow down! I am so blessed to be the Mom of these two girls. They bring me joy, love, and make me proud every day. Goodbye 3rd and 6th grades, you have brought us amazing teachers and another year of fun being a Wylie Bulldog.

Wylie Middle School Awards Assembly 2014

Well the sign of another school year coming to an end would be the end of year awards assembly...
(Kaylee & Maddie)
We are so proud of all the academic as well as personal goals Kaylee has accomplished during her 6th grade school year. She has continued to push herself and make it look like a walk in the park to take the class load that she has this year. Most of all I am proud of the compassion that she has for others, that she continues to be a friend to everyone that she meets and that her teachers always say she is a joy to have in class.

Kaylee walked away with awards for UIL, TMSCA, Academic Excellence, A-Honor Roll, and Outstanding Citizenship.

I cannot wait to see what 7th grade has in store for our sweet girl.

Wylie Intermediate Awards Assembly 2014

We also got to attend the 3rd grade Awards Assembly for Campbell this year. She continues to make
us proud with her hard work in the classroom, love for reading and love for her teachers.

Campbell achieved the Academic Excellence award for maintaining above a 95 average all year in all her subjects. She also got a good citizen award and one for A honor roll. While I am proud of her academic achievements I am also proud of the friends she continues to be to others and that her teachers find her to be a joy in the classroom.

I cannot believe my baby girl is going to be in 4th grade, where has the time gone?

Express Spring 2014

Well the Express has wrapped up another softball season. As usually they gave all they had and played their hearts out. I cannot say enough about the positive attitudes and respect each girl has for one another as well as the adults around them too. In my book I would rather have that anyway than a winning team with a bad reputation.
Kaylee is still enjoying playing catcher and first base. She still wants to be where the action is at all times. I love to watch her play for the pure joy on her face when she plays well and shaving fun.

This season was also bittersweet...one of Kaylee's best friends who has played on her team for several seasons moved a week after the season was over to go to Germany. Sometimes it is hard to be in a military town. Shelby and her family are such precious friends of ours and we will miss them terribly but know we will see them again. We are happy that their family will be reunited after months apart. Good luck in Germany Blakleys!

Powder Puff 2014

Well a big day for Kaylee finally arrived! She got to play football, kinda. It was so cute when she came home so excited about playing Powder Puff for the first time. Then the next day when she found out there were no pads or actual contact involved she was fairly disappointed. However, the next day she learned that she would be one of the quarterbacks for her team and would get a playbook,  life was good again. I love that Kaylee is so athletic because anyone that knows me knows I am so not.

Look at my girl run with that football tucked like a pro.

She even had a fan club there. Our summer youth intern Stephanie along with our Middle School Minister Holly came to cheer her on. We really do have the best Youth Minister in Holly, so thankful for the heart she has for these girls and making them the best they can be in the Lord.

In the end the green team lost but not by much. Every one of these girls played their hearts out and had a great time too. What more could you ask for?
Kaylee and Maddie, can you tell it was windy?

Last Choir Concert of 6th grade

Well on Monday, May 19th we got to enjoy Kaylee's last 6th grade choir concert of the year. The whole choir sounded beautifully. They sang, wait for it..."Let it Go" (shocker), "A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes" and "Disney Dazzle". They even used a prop and had arm motions for this one. It has been a joy to watch Kaylee gain some self confidence in this area this year. We have enjoyed each and every concert and are looking forward to more next year.
