ALCS Game 2

Once again Kaylee and Cary were able to go to a play-off games for the ALCS Championship. The best part was Kaylee getting to go with one of her best friends, Reid. I do not know who loves baseball more. They are such sweet friends and really look out for each other. They happen to be in the same class at school this year which is a real treat. You can tell how great their friendship is by the following two stories.

1. Reid told Kaylee if he is ever President he will pass a law that girls can play major league baseball because he knows how much Kaylee would like to play.

2. Sometimes Kaylee plays catch with Reid at recess. Another boy asked why he always played catch with a girl. Reid replied, "Because she throws better than most of the boys." Love it!

Campbell is toothless!

Well Campbell has been looking forward to this day for a long time. She finally lost her First Tooth!! Just like her big sister she lost it at school. It was so much fun to see the excitement on her face when she got in the car after school. Another milestone gone, time is going by way too fast for me.

Rangers ALDS Game

On a Friday about a week ago Kaylee and Cary went to the Rangers ALDS game in Arlington. Kaylee was so excited to be able to have some Daddy/Daughter time while enjoying their favorite pastime together. There really is no place in the world that she would rather be and I am so thankful that she and Cary get to have these bonding times together. Even though the game did not go as planning this night my family walked away winners because of the memories they made which are PRICELESS.

Soccer Storm 1st Game

Well the child that I thought would never play a sport has decided to play soccer this year. That's right Campbell Grace is now a Soccer Storm team member and loving every minute of it. ( I think a lot of it has to do with some of her good friends being on the team.) She is running her little legs off, kicking the ball hard, and learning all the rules of the game fairly quickly. Yes, this is also the child that says her legs hurt after walking too far in the parking lot to get to the glorious doors of Target;-) I have to say that she may be a good athlete like her sister. I love that my girls love different things and I enjoy cheering for them both. Here's hoping Soccer Storm has a great season ahead and if you are looking for us on a Saturday we will be at the soccer field.

Meet the Teacher 2011-2012

On Thursday night we got to go to 'Meet the Teacher' at the girls' schools.

We started at the Elementary since the times were from 6:15-7:00pm. I have learned to get in line to put money in the lunch account and buy T-shirts before going to the classroom because the later it gets the longer the line for these two things. I also decided to get a picture with their teacher at this time too since the first day is so crazy and Kaylee has 3 teachers this year. Ugh! My babies are growing up and time just seems to be going by faster and faster.

Here is Campbell with her teacher Mrs. J. We feel so blessed to have her since everyone I know thinks she is amazing! I loved the way she bent down to talk to Campbell a little and put her at ease right away. Let me just tell you she scored big points with Campbell because all she has talked about since is how she cannot wait for school on Monday. That is music to a Mom's ears.

Next up was a trip to the Intermediate Campus to meet all three of Kaylee's teachers. What has happened to my little girl? She was so excited to see what her teacher and classroom were like. She has several boys that she is friends with in her homeroom but no other girls. I assured her that after the first day she would know them all. Kaylee loves people and has such a sweet heart, how could they not love her right away?

I know that both of our girls have an amazing year ahead thanks to each of these sweet ladies. Thank you Lord for placing them right where they need to be once again.

Mother/ Daughter Night

A few weeks ago we went to a Mother/Daughter Night and had so much fun. Kaylee was not too sure about getting all fixed up and walking the runway but Campbell was excited enough for both of them.

Upon arrival we were given a Shirley Temple (aka sprite w/cherry grenadine and a cherry) in a champagne glass. Both girls thought this was the best drink ever, I am sure the glass made all the difference. The next step was getting in line for a manicure and new hairstyle.

Kaylee decided to get her nails done first and of course picked what I referred to as Smurf blue.

Campbell in the meantime was getting her hair straightened. It looked so odd to see her with straight hair for a change. I was a little worried she would like it and want me to try to straighten it from now on for school. That was not the case though, she could not wait to get her hair wet the next day in the pool so her curls would return.

When it was Kaylee's turn they decided to curl her hair. Kaylee declared it opposite day because of this since her hair is naturally straight. I also thought it was funny to see her with all those curls. Unfortunately by the time we got home they were almost gone because her hair is so thick it just will not hold curl very long.

I love my girls and the opportunity to spend a little time with them doing fun things.

Rancho Loma Fun!

At the beginning of the month we got to make a trip to our favorite restaurant Rancho Loma to celebrate a sweet friend's birthday. The place is fabulous but unfortunately it also has the prices to go with it so we cannot go there as often as I would like.

There were 22 of us total and we had a blast. I do not think Cary or I had laughed so hard in a long time. Of course as usual we ended up sitting with a guys and girls table so the conversations were plentiful. The laughter did not stop all night long. I am so thankful for these friends and the friendships we have with each one of them. We are truly BLESSED.

Happy 35th Birthday DAD!!

On July 16th we had a low key celebration at home for Cary who turned 35 years old!! Kaylee and Campbell had so much fun planning the meal, buying the presents, and picking out a cookie cake for their Dad to make his day extra special. Looking at the picture I would say that it was all a hit!

I am so thankful for the husband, father, Christian man, and best friend that I married. He makes everyday fun and all three of his girls love him with all their hearts.

Campbell's 1st Kidquest

The last week in June Campbell finally got her turn to go to ACU's Kidquest Camp. Kaylee has been going for a few years now but since you have to have completed kindergarten to attend this year was Campbell's first opportunity. Her excitement was doubled by the fact that her good friend Sara Jane was also attending camp the same week. Each day she came home filled with excitement about all that songs, skits, and fun she was having learning about the Lord. The counselors are amazing with these kids and so full of energy. My favorite part is watching all the children perform for the families on the last day. I was shocked that my sometimes bashful child was performing to her fullest and loving every minute of it. So thankful that we are able to send our children there each year and watch them grow more in the Lord.

Happy Father's Day 2011

Once again we got to go celebrate Father's Day in Waco with my Dad and Grandfather. I love celebrating my three favorite men all at the same time. Of course we also got to have some more birthday cake in honor of Campbell Grace too.

Magic Kingdom Day 2

We did not begin our second day at Magic Kingdom until 12:00pm for lunch at The Plaza which was a delicious sandwich shop. It was so nice to be refreshed from getting a little extra sleep.

Then we were off to enjoy Adventureland starting with The Pirates of the Caribbean ride, Aladdin's Magic carpet ride, Runaway Mine Train(which Campbell would have no part of), Splash Mountain(a family favorite), and a train ride around the park.

Next we went to Libertyland where we watched a parade, went to see the Hall of the Presidents (still one of my favorites), and found time for a little shopping. The girls even participated in a little pin trading today and ended the trip with all the ones they wanted.

Our day ended at The Spirit of Aloha Luau at the Polynesian resort. The show was fantastic and the food was delicious. We all loved watching the different types of dancers and wondering what they were going to do next. Kaylee and Campbell even got on stage for the childrens' dance and learned a short hula routine themselves. The atmosphere made you feel like you had escaped to Hawaii for the night. We all left happy and so thankful for the week that we had spent together.

All the months of planning had been more than worth the memories that we made, smiles on the girls faces, laughs that echoed all over the park, and just being together as a family where time seemed to pause for a moment outside of work and busy schedules. All of that equaled-PRICELESS.

Magic Kingdom Part 1

I am finally sitting down long enough to finish blogging about our Disney Trip. Finally we made it to the Magic Kingdom which we decided to break into two days of fun. The girls were a little tired considering it was now Thursday and we had been going non-stop. After waling up our sleeping beauties we were off to visit the castle.

Once we arrived at Cinderella's Castle we got a quick photo and were taken to our table inside to await our feast. Once again the food did not disappoint and the princesses were lovely too. The craziest thing happened at the castle as we were leaving I ran into a friend whom I had not see since ACU college days. It was so good to catch up for a moment and get a quick hug before continuing on our way.

The girls decided to ride the Dumbo ride first followed by the It's a Small World, Peter Pan's Flight, Winnie the Pooh, Mickey's Magical show, and even fit in a few autographs.

We grabbed a quick snack for lunch and made our way to the Teacups (a favorite that we rode a few times), People Mover, Space Mountain, Monsters Inc. Laugh Factory (also a few times), Stitch and even found time to watch a show of all the Disney characters.

After we had been all over the park and worked up an appetite we ate an early dinner at Tony's which I knew the girls would love since it was Italian food and based on the restaurant in lady and the Tramp. As you can see from the picture Campbell fell in love with the light up Tinkerbells and thought that she was hilarious. The meal was delicious and we all left very pleased.

Our next stop was to get our Mouse Ears, afterall what is Disney without the ears? Kaylee and Campbell both enjoyed making their own ears and I though captured their personalities perfectly.

Once the shopping was done we went to the Tomorrowland Terrace for the fireworks dessert party which was fantastic! I think the best part was not having to mark a spot on the curb for a few hours to get a good spot to watch the show. The night definitely ended with a bang! The Wishes fireworks show was fantastic especially when Tinkerbell came flying across to where we were seated. The whole day was everything we had imagined and more.
