But it started off so good...

Well the week started off great! I was over the horrible virus I had the Thursday before and both girls were still well. On Monday we went to the Pumpkin Patch with the MOPS group. It was quite a challenge to get a picture of the girls together since Campbell was not real sure about sitting near the pumpkins. She warmed up to the idea a little once she picked out her little pumpkin to take home. They both had fun decorating a pumpkin sugar cookie and listening to the storyteller at story time. It was such a cute place. I never even knew was there when I was in college here. Kaylee had a fun time with her friend Ethan. They chased each other and played a little baseball too. After a quick lunch we were ready for naps and a calm evening.

Of course that night the virus hit Campbell at around 11:00pm. I felt so sorry for her because she has never been sick like that before. She did not know whether to cry or just sit there in shock. Around 1:45am she went to sleep in her bed. At 7:00am the next morning I called in a sub for me and sent Cary off with Kaylee for school. Campbell seemed to be fine all day so at least she had a quick virus.

Cary went to San Antonio for business on Wednesday night and as things go around here Kaylee got the virus at around 11:00pm. Unfortunately she had the worst virus so far. She was sick every hour on the hour till 7:00am. By the time morning came I was dragging but Campbell was ready to eat and play. I once again called in a sub and then called my sweet friend Lindi to take dinner to some friends of our since I obviously could not. She came by the house to pick up a few things I was suppose to deliver with the food and even brought me coffee and a doughnut. Let's just say that I was really missing my husband. It was a very long day. Lindi again came to my rescue by bringing us dinner too. (Thank you so much sweet friend.)

I was so excited when Friday got here:) Cary returned home, I got to get out of the house for the first time since Monday, and we all got some sleep.

ACU 101

What a wonderful but busy weekend! This past weekend was ACU Homecoming so there was a lot to do.

On Friday night Cary and I took the girls to the Alumni Carnival up at ACU. There were lots of inflatables along with games, food, and music. The girls were decked out in their ACU shirts and looked so cute. It was good to catch up with some friends we have not seen in a while along with friends we see more often and watch our children play together. Kaylee had the best time with Kaitlyn and Ethan,who is her boyfriend of the week.
They even played laser tag together in a space ship inflatable. I would have loved to see what went on in there. She came back with 40,000 points so who knows what went on. She also tried to climb the rock wall with Ethan. Unfortunately she was a little too small to complete the wall but is ready to try again next year. Campbell got to meet Presley and a few other friends. She was just happy hanging out. After we left the Carnival it was time for the Grubbs to arrive at our home for the weekend. It was good to talk and catch up before bedtime.

Saturday was a slow morning for most of us because Cary was the only one to get up and go to his club breakfast. Once we got moving it was time to go to the ACU Homecoming Parade around campus.
Kaylee was so excited about our guestes, as she calls them, to come with us. She also was excited about the Big Purple Band playing in the parade. It was so much fun to see her watch all the floats too. Galaxy and Siggies did a good job on their floats we thought. Campbell flirted with her friend Ryan a little at the parade and gave Amy some love too. It was good to see soem more friends and catch up again too. Once the parade was over we went home to fix lunch instead of trying to fight the crowds at a restaurant. Cary cooked steaks while the kids played.
Kaylee had a lot of fun driving Wyatt around in the jeep along with a lot of other backyard fun. We enjoyed just relaxing and visiting with the Grubbs.
Shortly after lunch I fixed some cookies for our precious friends the O'Rears to have when they came over. It was so nice to see them and look at how much the girls have changed. Kaylee had so much fun with Lauren. They even watched a little Mary Poppins together which Alyssa and I agreed was one of our favorite movies growing up. It was good to laugh together and catch up a little but as is true with all good friends you wish there had been just a little more time. Later that evening we put all the kids to bed and found some time to play spades and do a lot of laughing with Chris and Holly. Another great end to a great day.

Sunday we all went to church together before the Grubbs headed home. We managed to catch up with the Jacobs briefly in class then were off to lunch. After lunch with the Connallys we returned to an empty house wishing that we just had a few more moments together with the Grubbs. We are already looking forward to seeing them again soon.

All in all it was better than we had even thought. ACU has given us so many wonderful friends old and new. The bond to ACU is something that can only be experienced, not explained. "O Dear Christian college we love you..." We are already looking forward to good times next year.

A Super Weekend!!

We had a Super weekend!! I just love a weekend that is packed full of fun times for the whole family.

On Friday afternoon my parents and grandfather came to visit. The girls were both very excited to have them here. Of course who wouldn't enjoy eating at Burger King and getting presents for no reason at all. I also found My Dad and the girls all playing a game together including Campbell. It was a priceless image that I will treasure forever. My Mom and I went shopping at Steinmart and I found some really cute things. (Thanks Mom and Dad.) Cary and I managed to get a little spoiled too,thanks to some great babysitters. We actually went to a movie on the first night it was released. The last time that happened we were without children. I highly recommend The Guardian, it is a little predictable but very good. I am definitely going to have to buy it when it comes out on DVD. That is all I am going to say so that I do not ruin it for anyone:) It was so good to have an actual date with my husband, I felt like a teenager all over again.

Saturday we all got ready for the big soccer game. I can tell that Kaylee is not as into the game as she was last year. Here are the big clues; she is more concerned with her shoes than the game, she skips everywhere, and when the ball is at her feet she could care less about kicking it. There is no pro soccer playing in her future. That's okay though, I mainly just want her to be exposed to different activities until she finds something she loves. After soccer Dad, PaPaw, Cary, and I went to a fish fry in town while Mom stayed home with the girls so Campbell could nap. The fish was great and the entertainment was fun. The family left around 4:00pm and we rested before the party. A little later we went to Andie's Birthday Party. Kaylee and Campbell had so much fun! Kaylee was having so much fun she did not even stop to eat.
Campbell on the other hand ate everything in sight. Who knew that my sweet baby liked corn on the cob? Well we do now. She spent quite a while sitting in the playhouse eating away on her corn cob even after most of the corn was gone:) Too funny!

Sunday was Celebration Day at our church. Everyone is suppose to invite their neighbors and wear casual clothes to church for the festivities afterwards. There was a lot to do during the celebration. We ate free hotdogs and hamburgers along with some delicious cookies. There were train rides in a barrel car, horse rides, and an inflatable bounce house and slide. The best part was the dunking booth. The elders and ministers took turns sitting in the dunking booth while people paid for balls to throw. Talk about some good sports. All the money raised went to the Children's Ministry. I walked away knowing that these men really love our kids to put themselves out there like that. Afterwards we went home to rest before Shepherding Group that night. Talk about four tired people, that was us after finally getting home to stay. You cannot beat a weekend full of family, fun, and friends:)

Is this Week over yet??

Our week has not been a great one. Here is the timeline for our week so far...

Sunday- Campbell seems to not be feeling well. Noticed a few issues with her but chalked it up to teething. Changed her clothes three times due to accidents. Our friend Richard arrives for the ACU Lectureship.

Monday- I am having issues. Maybe now I am thinking Campbell has a virus. Hopefully we will be better before school tomorrow. Hopefully it is something I ate and Richard will not get it.

Tuesday- Sub in the Two's class because there were not enough subs. Little boy has bloody nose. I feel fine. We enjoy chatting with Richard and eating a good dinner together.

Wednesday- Everything seems to be good. Then comes 2:30pm when Kaylee starts throwing up. Unfortunately it was on the couch so the cushions and the remote managed to get the brut of it. I then clean Kaylee up, put Campbell down for a nap, have Kaylee lay in her bed watching a movie with a trash can close by. Richard picks up a few things for me at the store and makes a hasty retreat back to his home. I cannot say that I blame him. Next I call a sub for me on Thursday. Around 4:00pm I am watching Dr. Phil on the DVR and the remote stops working. HUMMMM! I suppose it is not made to withstand throw up. I am stuck watching the game network till Cary gets home. My husband figures out how to change the channel on the dish receiver. Yeah! However we have to now order a remote off eBay to replace the ruined one. I am now stuck watching commercials which I have not watched in a long time thanks to DVR. Oh well, it could be worse right?? The girls go to bed and we go to bed very tired and ready for a new day.

Thursday- Take Campbell to her 9:00am 15 month well baby visit at Dr. Steadmans. Campbell screams the whole time the Doctor is examining her. I do not know how he heard a heartbeat through all of that screaming. Calm her down a little. Talk to the Doctor about Kaylee's umbilical hernia. Campbell gets four shots including the first part of her flu shot. She weighs 25.5 pounds and is 33 inches tall. After getting her calmed down for the second time the nurse gives her a Good Night Moon book and all is well with the world again. (I love that they get a book each time they go to the doctor. It's the teacher in me I think.) I make a second flu shot appointment for Campbell and a flu shot for Kaylee along with a consultation about the hernia. My sweet husband will be making the next appointment with me:) So far Kaylee is doing good:)

I just hope tomorrow is better than the rest of the week has been:)

Good Friends + Good Soccer = Good Times

Last weekend the Grubbs and Michael Taylor came to visit us. Well they really came to got to the Mesquite vs Abilene High game but I am going to think they just came to see us. Friday night Kaylee and Cary met them at the football game and had a blast. She loved Wyatt so much:) Of course Kaylee went to bed while we stayed up talking and catching up on life. There was a lot of laughing going on.

The next morning the crazy boys got up early to go hunting while the smart women slept in and ate cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Cary, Chris, and Michael arrived home in time to get cleaned up for Kaylee's big soccer game. We were in charge of the after game snacks so we let a little early for practicing before the game and to get things ready. Kaylee had a great time playing and was so happy that all of our "guestes" (as she calls them) came to her game.Kaylee played her little heart out. We were so proud of her! She fell down several times trying to get the ball but each time she got right back up and went to the ball. I am so glad that she has her father's athletic ability:) We did not win the game but the team we were playing had girls that were a year older than ours so I do not feel we did badly at all.
Campbell even went to "Tay Tay" (aka Michael) long enough for me to get a picture. She had fun trying to run on the field and laughing during the game. We definitely all had a fun time. After the game we all went to Sharon's for some delicious BBQ before our sweet friends had to head home. We are so glad that they came to see us and look forward to them coming again very soon:)

Kaylee's thoughts...

My oldest daughter has come up with some funny things lately. I just wanted to record them before I forgot. Here are a few of my favorites:

* While riding in the car with Daddy. Kaylee,"Did you know that the moon is God's eyeball?" Daddy, "No, why do you say that?" Kaylee (in a very matter a fact tone), "Well he is watching over us even at night so the moon is his eyeball looking at us and watching over us." Daddy, "Where did you hear that?" Kaylee, "I just know."

* In the car on the way to church. Kaylee, "Did you know God talks to you in your head?" Mommy, "Really, who told you that?" Kaylee, "I just know because he talks to me all the time." Mommy, "Good to know."

* Talking about friends at school. Kaylee, "Mommy you know my very best friends Parker and Chloe?" Mommy, "Yes, Kaylee I do. Why are they your very best friends?" Kaylee, "Because they are mature like me." Mommy, "What does mature me?" Kaylee, "It means that you act older than you are, you know that."

* Kaylee came home from school on Tuesday saying, "My teacher said I am as smart as a cookie." The teacher has already told me that Kaylee keeps her on her toes at all times. What teacher Karen actually said was that Kaylee was "one smart cookie" because she knew how to spell a few words in class. Too funny:)

* Today at chapel one of Kaylee's friends was asked to lead her favorite song. Her friend was not singing loudly or where anyone could understand the song she was singing. Mrs. Becky asked if anyone could help the friend lead the song and of course Kaylee rose her hand since she loves to sing all the time. Mrs. Becky said, "Kaylee why don't you help your friend sing her song, you can start it for us?" Since no one understood what the little girl was singing including Kaylee, she said, "I think she should start the song since it is her song." (My daughter already knows how to get herself out of a sticky situation:)

Parade, ACU, & a Birthday

Well this pasweekend was jamm packed with all kinds of fun! My parents came in town Saturday morning just in time to go to the West Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade. The girls had never been to a parade before so I thought it would be fun for all. We got great seats across from the parade announcer. Before the parade had even started Kaylee talked Papa into finding her something to drink. Kaylee's favorite part of the parade was the Big Purple Band. Too funny:)
As you can see from the pictures both girls were very comfortable with their spots. The parade ended up lasting for an hour and a half. I was quite surprised since I was expecting a 45 minute parade.
Both the girls did great! After the parade we went to Sharon's BBQ to pick up lunch and the proofs from the girls pictures I had gotten taken the day before. (I will post those when I have time to scan them in.) They turned out great though:)

Once everyone had rested a little we loaded up again and headed to ACU for the final 150th Birthday Celebration for ACU. They had a precious carnival for the kids to enjoy. Of course Kaylee's favorite was the games where she could win a prize. It is amazing how much joy a ten cent prize can bring to a four year old girl. Next came the brief speach from Dr. Money and then time for the cake. They had several hundred purple cupcakes for everyone to enjoy. Of course we all had purple frosting on us by the time we were done. I was so excited that Kaylee let me take a picture of her with Willie the Wildcat.
(I am sure that most of my friends remember her aversion to any kind of dressed up animal. She still does not like Chuck E. Cheese) Anyway if she ever decides to go to ACU one day I thought this picture would be fun to have around. After a little more playing and a brief trip to the bookstore we were loaded up and heading towards the house again. We got there just in time for Cary and I to change and be out the door again. We actually had a date night:) We went to Lytle Land & Cattle for a delicious steak dinner then to the Paramount for the ACU musiacl. It was so much fun!! I love the Paramount theatre and downtown Abilene at night. It takes me back to college.

Sunday we went to church and celebrated my Dad's birthday. We even went to Rosa's for lunch which was great! Once we arrived home Dad opened his gift and they headed back home while we all headed for the bed for a nap.

First Day of School x 2 & Out of Retirement

Well today marked a new year of school for both of my girls! (and me too)

A few weeks ago the opportunity to work at Young Children's World fell into my lap. I was asked to be the helper in the Three Year Old Class. This meant both of my girls would be in a different class from me and I could buy the dining room table I have had my eye on a little sooner. At first I thought "No way!". Then I remembered how attached my youngest sweet baby is and thought it would be a great opportunity for her to get use to someone else and realize that when I leave I will come back. Thus began my venture into the workforce two days a week.

Today we all got ready for school and work. I have to say it went smoother than I had expected. We started off with our tradition of breakfast at McDonald's with the girls. It is a time we all look forward to since it is rare for us all to be out the door before 8 o'clock. The girls thoroughly enjoyed their pancakes. They managed to finish in record time and even be able to play on the playground a little.
It was nice to have the place basically to ourselves. As you can see in the pictures the girls had a great time. Campbell even tried her had at some video games while Kaylee was sliding down the slide. I left the fun a little early to get to work and Cary was sweet to bring the girls a little later so I could get a few things done at school without interruption. Now for the synopsis of our day.

Me- Let me start by saying all the children were very good. I will give it a few weeks to see if it is their regular behavior or if they are just getting use to us. They really are a precious group. Most of the day is a blur, I do not remember sitting down much at all. There were a lot of things to be done as the helper which is good because it helps the day go by quickly. (I was good and only peeked in on the girls once.) I love all the ladies that I work with and feel like it will be a fun year. (The jury is still out on whether their will be a repeat performance though.) On the way home I treated myself to a Big Sonic peach sweet tea and instantly I felt good at least for a little bit. Once I got home I realized just how sore and tired I was after all. Good thing I have tomorrow to rest up before the fun begins again.

Kaylee- My sweet big girl is in the 5 year old class this year (they put older fours in the fives class) and I am realizing that this is my last year to have her every day. I am so glad that her class room is around the corner so I can have these memories of her playing and learning. She was so happy to see her friends today. It was as if her whole world was complete again. The smile was literally stuck on her face all day. She could not wait to go get Campbell and tell me all about her day. The first words out of her mouth were, "I love school and learning. My teacher is so nice she taught us lots of stuff. I cannot wait to go back tomorrow. One of the best parts was meeting new friends and seeing some of my best friends." I pray Kaylee always has such a zest for life, school, and friends. I could not have wished for her to have a better day if I had tried. What a comfort to have your child surrounded by those who love her and want her to achieve.

Campbell- I need to start by saying that my sweet baby had a great day! I was so worried since Campbell is so attached to me but things went really well. She did cry a little in the beginning (therefore there is no picture of her with her teachers) but once the routine started her teachers said she was fine. The Director even went to check on her a few times and said that she was ruling the roost in her class and having a big time. She only slept 30 minutes at naptime but that is thirty more minutes than I thought she would sleep. It worked great for me because she went down for a nap when we got home:) When I went to get her she was walking around carrying her luch box and continued to carry it all over the building, to the car, and the whole way home. Too cute! In class she made the cutest little ladybug with her thumbprints which is a keeper. Also she had on her note that the teachers loved her sweet smile. Yeah! Teacher Tiffany and Teacher Lauren are a perfect fit for Campbell so I think it will be a super year:)

Thank you Lord for placing sweet angels in our lives and for giving my sweet girls a good day.

Happy Times!!

We returned home on Thursday and some of our Dallas friends came to visit on Friday. Since Mike was going to tile the kitchen floor of their home with some help, Amy decided it was a great time to get away with the kids. We are so glad they did too. Kaylee and Ashlyn had the best time. They seemed to pick up where they left off. There was no arguing or tattling going on the whole weekend. What a nice age they are at:) Poor Parker was greatly out numbered but he did not seem to mind. Campbell had so much fun following him around and he was gracious enough to let her.

While Campbell was napping on Saturday, Amy and I took the rest of the gang to the zoo.


The giraffes were in rare form and ate anything we could give them. All our kids thought that was too funny. It was priceless to watch them jerk their hands back each time the giraffe licked them when trying to get a cracker from their hand.

The other highlight at the zoo was feeding the ducks. I think the girls would have stood on the dock forever watching them. The huge fish were fun to watch too.

All Parker wanted to do at the zoo was see the zebras and when we got to them all he could do was hold his nose and say "shew...stink". I tried to get us out of that area as soon as possible. Sorry Parker:)

After the zoo we went to Chic-Fil-A so the kids could play a little bit on the playgound in the air conditioning and eat a little something. When we got home Cary was feeding Campbell and it was naptime for Parker. After a brief rest we loaded the older girls up to go to the mall.
We took them to Diva Party Palace (which is a lot like Libby Lu) and they got to get their hair, make-up, and nails done. Kaylee went for the Tween style so she could get the glittery headband and Ashlyn went for the Diva so she could have pink hair. (Luckily it came out very easily in the bath before Sunday morning church.) They had such a fun time getting pampered. Who could blame them? Afterwards Amy and I even managed to do a little shopping at Gap Outlet...of course we only bought things for the kids. The next stop was Bahama Buck's for a snocone. We found out that the sugar free coconut tastes like soap (sorry Amy) but all the regular flavors are great!! Then we took a quick drive by tour of ACU before returning home.

My sweet husband grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner so I would not have to cook and they were delicious:) Everyone ate like a champ and then the kids were off to play in the backyard. It was actually a nice night to be out. The cutest thing was watching Parker take Campbell on her first "car date".
Don't they look like they are headed for trouble with those innocent faces? They look like they are trying to form a plan to me. Don't worry we watched them very closely and there was no stopping behind the tree.

Campbell looks like she has been riding with her Daddy too long. Her hands seem to be ready to brace herself for sudden stops and high speeds. Just kidding Honey:) Parker did a great job of driving because he never threw Campbell out and was very careful with her.

I am not sure if Parker is practicing the "laying on of hands" in this picture or simply making sure his date's hair looks good. Either way he was a perfect gentleman. Yep! (That is for you Parker.)

We had a super weekend with most of the Smiths present. (Mike, you have to come next time. We missed you:) What a gift it is to have friends that you can just pick up the conversation where you left off as if you have never been apart. It was sad to see them leave but we are already looking forward to making more memories next time they come to see us. Sorry for the long post to those who suffered through it.

Good Times with Old Friends

Why is it as the summer ends our weeks seem to get busier? Last Wednesday we left for Levelland so Cary could speak on finances and the Bible at the congregation where one of our good college friends preaches. The girls did so well on the trip:) Since we had just seen them the weekend before it was great to see our children pick up where they left off when playing together. We had a good dinner at a local pizza place and then we were off to church. I though that Cary did a super job. I felt like I was taking a college class again with all the notes I took and statistics he gave to us. As usual I was so proud of him:) After putting our children to bed we ate a mocha cheesecake dessert that was delicious and let the Castlemans put it on us in Spades. The next morning we took a few pictures and were off to see some family friends that live in LaMesa. Who knew trying to get a picture of four children could be so hard?

When we got to the Well's home it was like stepping back in time. They were just the way I remembered them from Tennessee and Lorena. It was fun to see pictures of their grandchildren and for them to see our two angels. Kaylee had the best time riding the tractor with Mr. Alan. He even let her drive! She was so excited. Cary and Campbell got to ride along in the little trailer too. I think my youngest was a little unsure but went along with the plan anyway. While they were playing I got to talk to Kay and catch up on life. It is so good to see old friends.

Catching up!

Another week has gone and no posts so here goes a weeks worth of activities...

*Last Thursday evening I left to go to Dallas and ended up spending the night with my friends Stephanie. We had a very enjoyable dinner at Christina's near the mall and caught up on life a little. Since I was spending the night we did more catching up at the house after kissing the kids good night.

*Friday morning I got up, ate a hearty breakfast, and went to Traci's to begin the journey to San Marcos after picking up Nicole, Sara, and Chelsea. We had so much fun just talking and laughing the whole way to Lorena. We stopped briefly so I could get in the car with my Mom and then we went to Salado. The restaurant we ate at was delicious. (Thanks Mom!) After filling our tummies and looking through a few shops we were off to San Marcos. Once arriving we checked into our room and hit the outlet malls. There were so many places and so little time. I was pleasantly surprised that there were not many people there so we hit all the children's stores. We even had time to fit in a sit down dinner in between all the shopping. By the time we got back to the room we were all looking at our purchases (Thanks Mom and Dad the girls clothes are cute.) and chatting away.
(Before anyone starts feeling bad for my husband his mother came to help with the girls and he even got to play golf one day. The girls had fun playing with Grandma too. They all even went to the Zoo and Mr. Gattis. That's more than we usually do in a weekend.)

*Saturday we got up, ate breakfast, and hit the malls again. I have to say that the best deal of the trip was today but I had to pass. Bombay had a full size girl's headboard with beautiful painted flowers for only $12.97 and it had been around $100. Let's just say by the time our group left there was only 1 out of the 4 left. By lunchtime the mall was getting crowded and we were ready to leave the madness. Traci did find a yummy Mexican restaurant for us to eat at before leaving town though:) After a quick refueling we were headed back to Dallas. Traci and I dropped all the girls off then headed to Target and Willowbend Mall. Then we were ready for a little Joe's Crab Shack followed by Starbuck's and returning home. It was so good to see Alan and the kids too. Kylie was even sweet enough to let me sleep in her bed.

*Sunday I got up and went to PC for church and class. I got to sit with Mike, Amy, and the kids. It was so good to see everyone:) After church the Taylors, Hansens, Smiths, and I went to Snuffer's for lunch. I was in Heaven with the cheese fries:) After eating I returned to the road to head home. When I stoppped in Weatherford for gas a nice man told me my tire was low. I have no idea how to change a spare or even really air up a tire correctly so I went to Wal-Mart because it was the only place open. After waiting for two hours they finally got to my car and could find nothing wrong with the tire so with a little extra air I was back on the road. (If you ever have to stop at the automotive department in Weatherford they are very kind.) Finally I was home at a little after six o'clock with two sweet girls that were very excited to see me. I fell like we all had a good and productive weekend.

*Monday I tried to get caught up on cleaning and a little laundry. Then that night I went to BUNKO and won for the most BUNKOS again! How exciting is that:) Gotta love it when you go home with more money than you left with.

*Tuesday there was more cleaning and playing with the girls to be done.

*Wednesday Kaylee had Gymnastics at 11:00, we went swimming at 12:15, came home around 2:30, got baths and naps, then went to eat at Bueno before church. Kaylee loved her class and it was a lot less busy than it had been in the summer. SHe is getting so good at listening and actually trying to do the moves they show her. There are a lot of them I know that I could not do. Both of my girls love the water so much that it really makes getting in the water enjoyable. It was a fun jam packed day.

*Today I am trying to get some things done around the house before soccer practice tonight. I am anxious to see if Kaylee still likes it and how much more she understands this time around. Thanks ahead of time Coach James!

That about sums everything up for now. I am going to try to get some new picturea of the girls posted along with what they are doing now next time. It should be a little less boring than this post anyway.

The Day is Finally Here!!

The much anticipated day is finally here!! For months my friends and I have been planning a trip and the time has finally come. Tonight I am leaving for Dallas to then travel to San Marcos for some fun outlet shopping with Chelsea, Nicole , and Traci. I am mainly shopping for the girls but if I happen to find something for myself at the hundred or more outlet stores then so be it:) Far be it from me to pass up a bargain. Thanks for the unlimited budget Sweetheart...just kidding (or for Chels JK). I know that we are crazy to be going because it is tax free weekend in Texas so everyone will be there but the adventure sounds exciting!! All I really want to accomplish is a good time with good friends. Please pray for us to have safe travels, for my children to be excellent for their Daddy, and for my precious husband to live through the weekend. Truth be told he has the patience of Job so I am sure everything will be great! Look out Prime and Tanger outlets because here we come!!

And we are Off...

The title sums up how I feel and it is only Tuesday. Yesterday Kaylee started Zoo Camp where she will learn about baby animals. Evidently they focused on turtles yesterday because that is mostly what I heard about on the way home. Here are a few facts according to Kaylee about turtles:

1. They bury themselves in the dirt to cool off.
2. Their eggs are buried in the dirt until they hatch.
3. Baby turtles are very cute.
4. Some turtles live to be very old.

Unfortunately the turtle shell they passed around class was not so lucky. It distrubed Kaylee that the turtle had died so she told Daddy that if God wanted to he could make the turtle alive again because the turtle is one of God's creatures and God does take care of his creatures. That girl never stops thinking. I am so glad that she is building a good foundation on the Lord. She also told us that there are many kinds of birds and one has a long neck and a long name.(Flamingo maybe?) Another important part was getting to eat animal crackers (very fitting) and drink lemonade. all in all a successful first day:)

Today she talked about touring the zoo and seeing different animals and their babies. The monkey was a favorite today because all I heard was that there is a new baby monkey at the zoo and the old baby is now an adult. I asked her if any of the animals had names and she said only the "adults" because the babies would not understand their names until they got older. She also said one of the adult monkeys died last night. Who knows?? I will have to check on that one tomorrow.

While Kaylee was at the zoo and Campbell was with Daddy I went to the doctor. I woke up not feeling well so the doctor gave me some medicine to make me better before my weekend trip:) Gotta love unexpected illness. Anyway the doctor was super nice and while in the office he asked where the kids were so I said with Cary. I told him I was sure Cary would be in the parking lot waiting for me when I got out of the appointment...I was half kidding. As soon as I walked outside and looked up there was the Tahoe with two cute little girls and my sweet husband. How did I know they would be waiting? So much for a quiet ride to his office to pick them up. Hopefully tomorrow will start out better than today.

Spelling

Today we were in the car on the way to Lori's aunt's pool to swim with some friends (Our weekly ritual if we are in town.) and Kaylee was talking away. All of a sudden she asked if S-T-O-P spelled stop. Yes, I said a little surprised since we were on the highway with no signs around that said Stop. Then she asked if Z-O-O spelled Zoo. We had not gotten to the zoo sign yet either. She spelled three more words before we got to the pool. I am taking this as a sign that we should start practicing our reading for a little challenge. We will see how that goes.

Dallas Bound

Yes, you are reading this correctly I am finally blogging about the weekend. Well my parents came to Abilene on Friday afternoon so Cary and I could enjoy a kid free weekend with our precious friends. Luckily the Ownbys had shipped their children to grandparents too so we really did get to visit without interruptions.

My main goal on Saturday was to find fabric for curtains in three of our rooms in the new house and since Interior Alternatives was having a sale it was the perfect time. (The boys goal was to play as much golf as possible before dinner.) The best part is my sweet friend Stephanie is going to make them for me. She and I had so much fun going to the fabric stores. I even managed to get fabric for two of the rooms. Of course before any fabric shopping started we went to Super Target for shopping and Starbucks since I have been having withdrawals. Then we fit in lunch at Snuffers which appeased my cheese fry craving for now.(I am sure the 15 pounds I have lost is back now but well worth it.) We ended the shopping with a trip to Kohl's and a wonderful spa pedicure after being on our feet all day. The hot stones they use are Heavenly and I think my girl gave me an extra long leg massage. Saturday night I had arranged to get couples from our small group together for a late Birthday celebration for Cary. We went to P.F. Changs and sat with women on one end of the table and men on the other. The food was delicious especially my mongolian beef! It was so nice to be able to talk without distractions. Once dinner was over my sweet friend Amy asked us all to come over for cake and games. Of course we just ended up talking till midnight and laughing at the silly things in life. When we returned to the Ownbys to sleep I kept thinking that it was so nice to be "home" even if it was just for a little bit.

Sunday we went to church and got to see a lot of our precious friends in class. I expected to feel a little out of place since it has been a while but I did not. We sat in our usual back row seats and enjoyed the lesson. Good job Chris:) After church we went to La Hacienda Ranch with the Kniffens, Ownbys, and Mike before heading back to Abilene. It was so nice to catch up with them too. Their precious girl had gotten so big and with another baby on the way it just seems like time has flown. It was a great weekend with life long friends.

We were greeted by the girls when we got home. They were so excited to see us both. My parents even appeared to be in one piece and not look too tired. I am so glad we all had a good weekend.

I just saw this listing on ebay and had to blog about it. Matthew McConaughey's 1971 Corvette convertible is listed on eBay with all proceeds going to the Oprah Angel Network. Anyway I was thinking if a few hundred or thousand of us pitch in we could by the car and share it. I know it is a long shot but I just adore him as an actor and fellow Texan. Of course I am just kidding but wouldn't it be fun!! (and yes, my wonderful husband knows I adore Matthew)

A Wonderful Random Happening

On Monday I was sitting playing with the kids and the phone rang. On the other end was one of my bridesmaids and best friends from college Angie. I knew that her family lived here and had seen her a few times at PC but we had lost touch...one of the things I do not like about leaving college. She had seen in the ACU Today that we had moved to Abilene so she decided to look us up while she was in town visiting family. It was so good to hear her voice and catch up a little on the phone. We enjoyed it so much that I called her back to book a dinner date with her. It was so much fun to talk at Chilis and find out what we had both been doing over the past few years. There is something to treasure about the friends that you can not talk to every day, month, or even year and still pick up where you left off. I think some others have blogged about this in the past week and it is so true. This is definitely on the list of treasures I have gotten from the move here. I am looking forward to getting together often now when she is in town to talk, laugh, and just enjoy time together.

Quick Trip

Well the girls and I made a quick trip to Waco on Tuesday to surprise Nana for her Birthday. On the way we passed the movie theatre and Kaylee said,"I think Nana would like to take me to a movie for her Birthday". We will see. Then we continued on our journey. The look on her face when we walked through the door of her work was worth all the stops we had to make on the way. After making the rounds at her office and seeing all of her sweet friends Nana made a quick exit for the rest of the day at the urging of her co-workers. She really works with the most amazing people:) We went to Jason's Deli and Papa met us there so he could see the girls too. After Papa's afternoon appointment was cancelled the girls got to spend the afternoon with both of them while I ran a few Birthday errands. As soon as I walked in the door Nana and Kaylee left to go see The Wild, Kaylee sure knows how to get Nana to do anything for her. I am sure that My Mom had that at the top of the list for her Birthday. While Nana and Kaylee were gone Papa, Great PaPaw , Campbell, and I had fun playing and talking. That night we all went to Cotton Patch for a Birthday dinner. Poor Campbell who will only nap in her bed went to sleep in the car on the way. As soon as we entered the restaurant she popped that head up though and was ready to eat. Needless to say after a quick bath I had two girls that were ready for the bed.

Kaylee and Nana had a funny conversation on the way home from dinner and it went something like this...Nana, "Kaylee why are you sad?" Kaylee, "You are going to go to heaven soon and I do not want you to leave yet because I love you." Nana, "I do not think I am going anywhere right now." Kaylee, "I think you are." ( with a very sad face) Later that night Kaylee and I had a little talk. Me, "Kaylee why do you think Nana is going to Heaven soon?" Kaylee, "Well every year she gets older and when you get old you get sick and tha only way to make you well is to go to Heaven and be with God." Me, "Kaylee we never know when God is going to call us home to be with him but it is a happy place and our family will be there too." Kaylee, "That's good Mom." I never know what is going to come out of that sweet little mouth of hers. A lot of times like today I am amazed:)

On Wednesday We enjoyed some time with Nana and Great Papaw before Nana had to go to work. She even went to Burger King and got Kaylee some Cini Minis for breakfast. A little before lunch Papa came home bringing Lunch from McDonalds for the girls and Burger King for us. Right after lunch we began the journey home. What a great 24 hour trip!

On the way home I noticed the hospitality of the country. On the drive from Abilene to Waco you are on a highway that consists of two lanes. It is nice to see all the farmland and realize that there still are open plains and rolling hills. Living in Dallas you feel like every inch of land is being used and we are running out of space. It was nice to be reminded of the country. (Not that I do not love every inch of Dallas when it comes to shopping.) Also you pass cars and they wave at you, therefore you have to drive at all times with one hand on top of the steerring wheel to be able to wave. Something about that is comforting. The best is to see an old farm truck or tractor with an older gentleman in it and know that they have farmed their whole lives and have such a sweet way about them. It is also nice to have people pull over to let you pass. I suggest a little drive in the country to make you relax and see the beauty anytime. There are a lot of cute Texas towns off the beaten path. Just a little bit of hospitality in the country.

Birthday Weekend

It has just been a nice weekend. It has been a while since we have really had nothing to do so it was good to rest some. Notice I said "some". Cary was suppose to go fishing on Friday and Saturday with some guys from church but decided not to after considering heat and having to drive by himself since his friend Lance could not go at the last minute due to work. So instead of fishing on Saturday Cary worked on his old car (yes, it made the move), put latches on some of the cabinets to keep Campbell out, and mowed the yard. I think he should have gone fishing. I went to Sam's and Wal-Mart with Kaylee in the mean time and Campbell took a long nap. After returning home Lyndy called to see if I wanted to go to a movie with her...of course. We saw the Lake House which I thought was very good. It was so nice to just enjoy an adult movie with a good friend. Since I got home at 9:30pm Cary and I decided to watch Two for the Money that I had rented on Friday. It was pretty good, but anything with Matthew McConaughey is never bad.

Today we have enjoyed church and My Sweet Husband's 30th Birthday!! I can finally say we are both in our thirties. I cooked roast for lunch so we could have a quiet family meal at home. Of course, Kaylee helped me pick out a cake yesterday at the store for her Daddy and was very upset with me when I did not get the Bakery to put "Happy Birthday Daddy Love, Kaylee Nicole Beard". I thought that was too funny. I tried to explain that all those words would not fit but there are times when you cannot reason with a four year old. I think by the time we got home she had forgiven me though. Anyway the cake was delicious. It was great just to be together on Cary's special day. Of course the girls enjoyed it almost as much as Cary I think.

Well I am now going to mop the floor from Campbell's fun and watch a sappy Lifetime movie while the girls are sleeping. Cary is reading his birthday present which was Jamie Newberg's Baseball books he publishes each year about the Rangers and their season. The 1999-2006 editions should keep my husband busy reading for a while.

Overdue Post:)

WARNING: This may be a long one since we have been too busy to post lately.

Kaylee got back from a few days of spoiling with my parents and grandfather last Saturday. She managed to talk Papa into going to see CARS with her on Wednesday and they both had a lot of fun. Kaylee said they got all kids of treats to eat while watching the movie. I love watching the two of them together...it really takes me back to when I was small. I believe it was the next day when she talked Nana and Great PaPaw into going to see Ice Age the Meltdown. Nana said she and Great PaPaw had fun laughing at each other and the movie. I would have given anything to have been there to watch them. I remember doing so many things with my grandparents like vacations, getting picked up for an ice cream treat, and just being the center of their attention for a while. It is nice to have Great PaPaw around for the girls to enjoy too. Another day I called and Kaylee and Nana were going swimming at a friend's house. I would love to know how she got Nana to get in the pool. I suppose with her all it takes is a little begging from the right person. Nana also informed me that Kaylee would not get anything for herself unless they got something for Campbell too even though Campbell was not there. I think someone adores her sister. The feeling is mutual though. After lunch on Saturday at the Dairy Queen we went back home to get some rest before a week of church and VBS started.

The VBS here started on Sunday night and was every night through Wednesday. Kaylee had so much fun! They studied the story of Bethlahem. She was a little confused as the why they heard the same story every night when she could remember it. I thought that was too funny. . One of her favorite things they did was the stick horse races. She said that she beat everyone that she raced. I think she gets her competitive streak from her Daddy which is good most of the time. She is also very determined which I think comes from me and is good most of the time too. As you can see in the picture she is running her little heart out. The next thing she talked about was the Marketplace and making things in the different booths. Her favorites were the wooden hammer, the colorful star shown in the picture, and her leather headband also seen in the picture. Each day she woke up excited to go back. I pray that she never looses her zest and love for the Lord. What a wonderful few days for her. She remindes me each day that the Lord blessed us with each other and our family. So sweet:)

Before VBS wednesday night some of my friends and I went to the park for Dorothy's 30th Birthday. Her husband was out of town so we let the kids play while we talked a little and ate some pizza and cupcakes. All the kids had a wonderful time and I actually found a park in Abilene with shade so you do not burn up. We will definitely be visiting this park again.

On Thursday Kaylee had her last gymnastics lesson for the summer but will start again in the fall. It is so fun to see her trying to learn everything while she is there. Campbell has done really well too considering she justs sits with me and watches for the hour Kaylee is performing. You are allowed to leave them but I wanted her to get use to the surroundings and teachers first. I may leave to get a drink next year we will see.

Last week went by so fast...I cannot wait to see what this week brings.

Fun Times:)

Tonight was great!! I finally got to see precious baby Ella when I took dinner to Matt, Melissa, and Aidan. She was sleeping so peacefully. (kinda like Campbell the past few days) It is already hard to believe that Campbell was ever that small and even harder to remember Kaylee being that little. Where has the time gone? I find myself asking this question more and more each day about both of my girls. Before I turn around good Kaylee will be in school...I cannot even think about that.

The next stop was BUNKO at Lori's house. I must say that I did much better than the last time. Somehow I came home with the most BUNKO prize which was money, a pretty cup with scripture on it, and some of the delicious leftover salad. I will have to go to Lori's more often:) The cup and salad were not part of the prize. Thanks again Lori for being such a gracious hostess. It is so nice to get together with a wonderful group of Christian women to have fun and be uplifted.

Reunion & Home

After a very long trip visiting Cary's Mom"s side of the family we are HOME!! (Well all except for Kaylee who went to Nana and Papa's for a few days of spoiling.) We went to a family reunion and lets just say I have every tumbleweed, mesquite bush, and Dairy Queen memorized. It was good to visit with Cary's grandmother and great- grandmother along with his 7 other aunts and uncle along with their families. There was a lot of eating, visiting, picture taking, and card playing during the 3 days we were there. It is always nice to catch up if only for a little bit. I tried to post pictures but blogger was not cooperating.

Here are a few tidbits from the trip:

1. While we were driving through Clarendon we wondered where our friends from Dallas were staying. Right as we were driving by the only decent hotel (unless you count the It'll Do Motel) in town we saw the Ownbys coming out of the hotel they were staying in for their family reunion. What are the odds? God must have known that I really needed to see my friends and get some hugs if only for a moment.

2. Campbell did not sleep much at all on the trip. (Let's just say my daughter loves her bed and sleeping without her parents and sister in the room.) Since we have been back she has slept about 19 of the 24 hours in a day. I think someone is tired.

3. Cary had to drive his Mom to the emergency room due to infected ant bites which the EMT thought were spider bites at first. She is okay now.

4. When you have ten children it makes for a huge family reunion.

5. Dary Queen is the slowest restaurant in Aspermont, well I think it is the only restaurant in Aspermont.

6. With a DVD player in the car and Landrea (Cary's sweet baby sister) a 12 hour round trip is bearable.

7. We finally got to meet our new neice Chenna...who already seemed so big to me at 4 months. Kaylee had a great time playing with her cousins too.

We were driving back on the Fourth so no exciting plans for us. The girls barely ate they were so tired and went straight to bed. There really is no place like HOME after a trip. Of course now I am doing laundry and putting things away.

Fun! Fun! Fun!

The best 32 hour trip ever!! My friend from college and beyond, Lisa and I went to Dallas Market to get some things for her store. We left at 7:30am on Saturday with Starbucks in hand to begin the journey. We arrived at the Doubletree Hotel around 10:00am, parked the car, and got on a shuttle to take us to the land of milk and honey. I just have to say I love Dallas Market!! There are so many things that it is a little overwhelming...okay a lot overwhelming. What is better than snacking and shopping at the same time? All the exhibitors were so nice and helpful. On Saturday we just browsed and gathered information to ponder later that evening. After six hours of continuous shopping and information overload we went back to the hotel to process and talk. At 7:00pm we left the hotel to meet some of my best friends for dinner at Benihana. It was the best feeling to walk in and see everyone. I felt as if I was "back home" with all my friends whom I love so dearly. The conversations were constant, food was delicious, but the view of all their faces was the most wonderful part. Lisa had a good time meeting everyone and being able to put a face with the names she hears so often. It was a night full of good times. The party broke up at around 9:45pm and we returned back to the hotel. Lisa and I watched Rumor has It which I have to say was a big letdown. Then we talked ourselves to sleep.

Sunday we ate breakfast and headed back to Market to purchase the things we thought would sell the best in her shop. It was so much fun!! When the shipments come in it will be just like Christmas. I am especially excited about the cute squeaky shoes I ordered for Campbell and the store. Maybe they will encourage her to walk since she has almost grown out of the ones Amy M. gave us and is not walking yet. I think we are going to try to venture into some smocked outfits soon too. Fun! Fun! Fun! I am already looking forward to the next trip. (Maybe the next trip will be a little longer so some more of my sweet girlfriends can join us for dinner or something. I miss and love all of you girls so much!!!) Around 5:00pm we returned home to happy faces and loving hugs.

One Year Check-up

On Tuesday my sweet baby girl had her one year shots. The visit started off good because Campbell got a new book from the nurse, got weighed, and her height measured.(23lbs.4oz., 32 inches long) I had a nice visit with the doctor...I may have convinced him I am not so crazy anymore. Just when Campbell thought she was safe in came the nurse. I do not know who was more upset Kaylee or Campbell. Kaylee kept saying that Campbell did not need the shots because we could keep her healthy without them. I explained for the 10th time that she had to get them and she would be fine. As soon as the first shot went in Campbell's famous cry erupted...we might have cleared the waiting room who knows? As soon as the nurse left Kaylee was right beside Campbell telling her it would be alright because sister was there. She even tried to distract Campbell by talking about the cute band aids on her legs. Of course Campbell did not care and continued to cry while I was paying and we were trying to make a hasty exit. After we got back in the car Kaylee grabbed Campbell's hand to hold on the way home and kept telling her she loved her so much and she was so proud of her. Such a sweet Big Sister:)

Birthday Party Time

Well I am just going to warn everyone that this post will be a long one. We had to fit in Campbell's Birthday and Father's Day into one weekend and it was packed full of fun!!

On Friday we went to Pizza Hut and Sam's for Campbell's Birthday so it was a big day. (ha,ha) We decided to finally breakdown and buy a DVD player for the car so we would have it for long trips. It worked like a charm too. I think that was the first time I have ever gone to Sam's and only purchased one thing.

Saturday we left for Waco to celebrate Campbell's Birthday and Father's Day with my parents. Campbell woke up at 6:50am and still did not go to sleep in the car the whole three hour drive. that girl! After arriving at my parents house Kaylee looked out the backdoor to find a swingset that Papa had put together just for the girls. The expression on Kaylee's face was priceless. She had so much fun swinging and Campbell did too. After a little while GG, Aunt Trudy, and my Cousin Duncan arrived to get hte party started. We cooked out, visited, ate and then the big moment arrived THE CAKE. I was not sure how Campbell would do but she was hilarious. She started by picking at the frosting very carefully. After about 3 minutes she figured out what she was eating and dug in with both hands and pulled out big pieces of cake. The I suppose she was tired of getting her hands dirty so she picked the whole cake up and put it up to her face. Too funny!! As you can tell from this picture she had a wonderful time. Next came the presents which she seemed to like. Each gift was fun for her and she really wanted to play instead of moving on th the next package. Everyone was sweet to bring Kaylee some treats too so she would not feel left out. Both girls got some fun things and some treasures to keep forever. I think one of her favotire things from the party were the James Avery boxes that she carried around for a while. What baby girl doesn't need James Avery, right? Or Big girl for that matter. After the presents were over the girls went to play in the pool. For some reason blogger will not let me load pictures of that so I will put them in flicker. After pool time the girls got ready for bed and all of our family returned home. Thanks again to all of them for making Campbell's first birthday a real treasure!

Happy 1st Birthday Campbell Grace!!

A year ago today our second blessing in life was born. She managed to enter the world three weeks early and still weigh 7 lbs. 12oz. The day was perfect. I went in to see Dr. Sigman and she sent me to L&D. The delivery was fast and easy on Mom and Baby. Out of everything that happened I most remember the look on Kaylee's face when she saw her sister for the first time...it is the look I still see on Kaylee's face each morning when Campbell wakes up and enters the room.
Here are a few things that I want to remember about Campbell.

* She has the loudest cry, it is very distinct. She does not cry very often but when she does the whole world knows it. When we were in the hospital after she was born we heard this poor baby crying down the hall. Cary and I both looked at each other and commented about how we felt sorry for those parents. Soon the door opened and the screaming baby heard all over the maternity ward was ours. We still chuckle about that one.
* She loves attention.
* She still only has four teeth which she did not get till she was 9 months old.
* She has the best laugh, she can laugh so hard...especially at her sister. No one can make her laugh like Kaylee.
* I love the way she clings to me, lays her head on my chest, smiles real big, and looks at people out of the corners of her eyes when she thinks they are going to take her from me. It's her I am so cute but do not touch me look.
* She has no interest what-so-ever in walking.
* She never would hold a bottle by herself but will hold a sippy cup.
* The way she smiles so big her eyes disappear and all you see is teeth. It can truly light up a room.
* Her love for her sister is amazing to watch.
* She loves to be held.
* She loves to take naps in the morning and afternoon.
* She can clap, play peek-a-boo, say "Mama" and "DADA", and wave bye-bye.
* She gets her feelings hurt very easily.
* She loves her lovie and paci to sleep with.
* She loves baby dolls. She will drag them behind her as she crawls then stops and picks the doll up to give it "love".
* She prefers "people food" over baby food and will let you know about it.
* She hates to be left alone...she will crawl behind you crying the whole way. Often she is so upset that she does not watch were she is going and hits her head.
* She crawls very quickly.
* She loves to eat grapes and bananas.
* She hates to ride in the car for more than an hour and rarely falls asleep in the car.
* She crawls as quickly as she can at night when Daddy comes home to get to him. Afterwards she sits with her hands up until Daddy picks her up.
* She loves to go swimming. The water is one of her favorite places to be...especially when she can splash someone.
* She wears a size 18-24 month in clothes.
* She already follows Kaylee into her room and thinks she can play too.
* She adores her sister.
* We cannot believe this little angel has been with us for a year already. She has brought so much love and happiness to each of us.

I find myself wondering where the time has gone. Campbell's birthday really snuck up on me. I am really looking forward to seeing what the next year brings. We love you Campbell Grace!! HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY!!

Busy, Busy, Busy

From last Thursday till now I feel like we have been going non-stop. On Thursday Kaylee had her first gymnastics class here and it went GREAT!! Kaylee was so excited because two of her friends from school were in her class. I think she was especially excited about Reid. She has a little crush on him. Campbell even enjoyed playing in the large waiting area and watching Kaylee. Considering the lessons last an hour I was very proud of her. I tried to take a few picture but they turned out too dark so I will try again this week. After gymnastics we had time to run home and Kaylee changed into her swimsuit while I gave Campbell her milk bottle. (I decided to start her on milk this past week and see how it went and she did super.) Once we rounded up the towel and cover up we were off to ACU for swiming lessons. I am so proud of the progress Kaylee has mde in just a few days. She will even hold her breath and put her head under the water for more than a few seconds.


On Friday Kaylee skipped swim lessons to her friend Matthew's birthday party. They went to see CARS !! Kaylee was so excited. The movie was really cute. Thankfully Cary watched Campbell at his office so Kaylee and I could enjoy the movie with no interruptions. I am just not ready to see if Campbell likes the movies by myself. Kaylee got a little collectible Lightening McQueen car and a CARS matching game too. After the movie we went to McDonald's for a happy meal and a treat for Cary. When I got to the office all the "ladies" as Kaylee calls them said Campbell had been great so it was a successful afternoon for all!!

Saturday I caught up on some chores around the house, bought stuff to attempt to make Campbell's birthday cake, and did a little Father's Day shopping. I was exhausted by the time I got home and was trying to decide what to cook for dinner when the phone rang. It was the Baileys asking us to go to Abuelos and my alvacado enchiladas were wonderful. It was a perfect way to end the night.

Today we were off to church. Shana and I had a lot more kids in class than we did last week and it was a little more eventful. Campbell and Kaylee both had a good time in class and Cary even cooked lunch. Meals are always great when you do not have to cook them. Tonight we had Sheperding Group at the Walter's which consisted of visiting, swimming, and eating. The girls are now in bed gettitng ready for another exciting week. Kaylee gets to see her friend Lexi from Dallas this week because they are going to VBS at the church where Lexi's grandfather preaches. Then we are off to our last week of swim lessons and Campbell's birthday on Friday. I am off to rest up for the week.

8 YEARS!!!!

It is so hard to believe that Cary and I have been married for EIGHT YEARS today. Being back in Abilene it is so funny to see where we went on our first date, where Cary proposed (unfortunately the tree is now gone so they can expand the zoo), and where we first lived as husband and wife. Time has just flown by especially since having our two precious girls. I have to say we are more in love today than we were back then. I knew from the first time I met Cary that he was the one. We shared the same love for the Lord, desire to have a family, and belief in putting each other first. There were so many qualities that I wanted my husband to have and Cary far exceeded them all. I think I realized just how amazing that he is once we had our girls. He is a wonderful father!! After working all day he still has the energy to swing Campbell around and play games with Kaylee. He always encourages me to have some "girltime" and never complains. We can complete each others thoughts and sentences to the point that it is scary at times. He always puts us first. He is truly wonderful!! I am so glad that I found THE ONE, my soulmate, and my best friend. We are the perfect compliment to each other. I cannot wait to see what the rest of our life has in store for us. I love you now and forever!!

We have a date planned tonight thanks to James, Leslie, and Kaitlyn babysitting for us. I am looking forward to an evening alone with my sweet husband.

Relaxing

Well we had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Our goal was to do as little as possible and I believe that we achieved it. On Saturday night we went to swim at one of our friends Aunt's house. I have never seen such a large pool in someone's backyard. There were a few other couples from our class over there too. The pool felt wonderful and the food was great. Kaylee had a wonderful time swimming all over the pool with her floaties on. Most of the time she was following her new friend Kade who was 11 years old. My girl likes those older men. He was so sweet to put up with her. Campbell had her first trip in the pool too. I was a little leary after how much Kaylee use to hate it at her age but Campbell LOVED the water. She even road in her little float without a single tear. Her favorite thing was to float next to someone, lean sideways, and splash them with water. It would just crack her up. The evening was great because we all had a good time with some new friends and Cary was happy because he did not have to get in the water at all. He would rather sit and talk baseball with Paul which is fine. After such an exciting evening for the girls they were happy to go to bed and get some much needed rest before church.

Sunday morning I began my first of many Sundays to teach the two year olds at our church. They were all so precious. A few cried for their parents but after the lesson started they were fine. Shana and I had a lot of fun teaching together. I was a little worried about Campbell who was two doors down being in a new class with a new teacher but she did great! I did not hear her cry once and anyone that knows us knows Campbell has a cry that can be heard around the building if she is really mad. Kaylee had a great class too. She was just happy she got to take home a new balloon to play with. After a quick lunch at Red Lobster we were off to the house for naps and relaxing. Who knew my four year old would like lobster and crab legs???

Today Kaylee started swim class at ACU. She did so good. I was so proud considering how much she disliked the water two years ago...we have come a long way. They practiced floating on their backs and kicking their feet while holding on to their teachers shoulders. Kaylee actually was not ready to leave. It was like a sauna at the pool because it is inside so I think Campbell and I lost a few pounds too from all the sweating. I will have to post pictures tomorrow because I forgot the camera today. After the swim lesson we went to lunch with Cary at McDonald's. He got to see the last few minutes of Kaylee's lesson too. She told him he would have to come earlier tomorrow. I think she is getting use to having Daddy around a lot more than he was in Dallas which is a great thing!!

Well I am off to do a few things around the house before I go to BUNKO tonight. Some girl time is going to be great!!
